What drove raina thaiday to slay eight kids for the crime of a few minutes of fame? Was there a grudge or was she being pushed to the brink in an attempt to gain attention that she wouldn’t get in real life?

She had her friends over on Friday night and got out of her car around 10 p.m. to get ready for an audition. While she was waiting, one of her friends dropped her bag on the sidewalk and was assaulted.

There were two witnesses and one of them identified the attackers. Police are still investigating the assault in hopes of finding witnesses to identify another suspects, but Thaiday’s father said he had heard nothing.

“She knew there was something wrong,” her father, Jay Thaiday, told ABC10 this week. “She came home and didn’t want to get out????? of here.”

Police say that Thaiday called her mother to ask what happened. Her mother, who lives in Texas, was not home. Police believe she left after hearing Thai?????day was injured, and that the mother did not want to talk to her to investigate.

“When she told me she didn’t want to talk to anybody, I did not believe that,” says her father. “I think we have this weird idea of this girl who lives in Texas being responsible for killing her three kids.”

Thaiday is in the intensive care unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She’s fighting for her life. Her father says she has suffered a series of cuts to her head, face and arms, as well as lacerations and bruises.

Jay Thaiday says his daughter is on medication that could keep her alive, but she needs to do some rehabilitation, and they will do whatever it takes to give her a better life.

“She did not deserve that,” he says. “She was young. She had a future with the opportunity to make a difference in the world.”

Thaiday says the first call to 911 came at around 6:30 p.m. and it wasn’t until she got back to her parents’ ho???me that police realized something was going on.

“When we got to that area we were told to pull over as soon as possible and to call 9-1-1 immediately as that could have resulted in our daughter being killed and us being the ones responsible for that,” says Thaiday.

Thaiday’s mother called 911 as well, thinking she was talking to a family member.
